I’m open to enquiries about new plays, commissions and adaptations, particularly projects that connect with the areas I tend to return to in my own work: cultural memory, identity, history, nostalgia and the ways the past keeps turning up in the present.

Cultural History & Research
Alongside playwriting, I’m a professional historian and archivist.
I’m happy to hear from theatre-makers, journalists, researchers, producers or others looking for historical context, research support or an informed second pair of eyes.
My particular interests include British cultural history, cultural memory, ideas of Englishness, nineteenth- and twentieth-century history, and German-Jewish history.
Interviews, Media & Events
I’m also available for interviews, podcasts, radio, television, live television, talks and panel discussions.
Before concentrating more fully on playwriting, I worked freelance for several years and became very used to being interviewed, explaining complex subjects clearly and talking live without a script in front of me.
So if you’re looking for a historian, playwright, archivist — or some slightly inconvenient combination of all three — do ask.
Representation
I’m currently looking for literary representation.
Ideally, I’d like to work with an agent based in the UK, or with someone elsewhere who knows the UK theatre industry extremely well and has strong relationships within it.
I’m particularly interested in representation that understands both the development of new plays and the longer-term building of a playwright’s career.
